8-Weeks 4 $8000 Competition

A Marc Stafford Health & Fitness Members Competition

The 8-weeks for $8,000 competition is an annual event for MSHF members to kick-start the new year and provide momentum for partcipants to continue a healthy eating and regular exercise routine throughout 2010. 

This year we have a total of 112 participants and 56 teams all training hard for the major prize of $8000 worth of MSHF training credit!

Competition Calender & Events

Week 1
Monday February 1st – official competition weigh-in.
Where: Re-Creation Trackside Gymnasium, 10 Railway Walk Hampton, 12:30-2:30pm or 5:30-8:30pm

Wednesday February 3rd – optional fitness testing session
Where: Hampton beach foreshore 7-8pm

Week 2
Monday February 8th - "8-Week & 2010 Goal-Setting & Planning Workshop" .
Where: 7:30pm @ Milanos Hotel (Terminus room) - 4 The Esplanade Brighton Beach

Week 3
Monday February 15th - "Personal Nutrition & Healthy Eating Review” educational workshop.
Where: 7:30pm @ Milanos Hotel (Terminus room) - 4 The Esplanade Brighton Beach

Week 4
Monday February 22nd – Official Weigh-in No. 2
Where: Re-Creation Trackside Gymnasium, 10 Railway Walk Hampton, 12:30-2:30pm or 5:30-8:30pm

Week 7
Friday March 19th – Sunday March 21st: Optional Fitness Camp & Retreat Weekend

Week 8
Wednesday March 24th – Official Final Weigh-In
Where: Re-Creation Trackside Gymnasium, 10 Railway Walk Hampton, 12:30-2:30pm or 5:30-8:30pm

Friday March 26th: Official competition dinner with guest speakers and winners announced.


Weekly Training Update - Week 4

Half way through the competition and our second official weigh-in. We have a 'run away' team at the top of the ladder Too Many Peroni's who have set the challenge for the rest of their competitors. The rest of the teams are extremely close and it will come down to the smallest of margins I am sure to determine our winning team this year.

Our next and third official weigh-in is this coming Tuesday, conveniently after the long weekend! This will give us the best indication of how our teams are shaping up for the final weigh-in during week 8.
